Mazda Motorsports recently announced contingency cash awards would once again be provided to Formula Car Challenge presented by Goodyear competitors. A few weeks after that announcement, they nominated three of the 2019 FCC champions to participate in the Mazda Road to 24 Shootout.

“We really appreciate the amount of investment both in time and money that Mazda makes in the sport we all love,” stated series representative Mark Milazzo. “World Speed has been winning year-after-year with Mazda power since 1991. Our relationship with Mazda has always been about partnership. We have provided show cars, hosted Formula SAE think-tanks, provided marketing support to local Mazda dealers, and promoted the brand online on our many social channels. We’ve also covered hundreds of thousands of miles with our multiple Mazda branded rigs to race tracks across North America. We’ve invested many thousands of hours fervently sharing the Mazda message, and we’ve purchased many Mazda road cars over our 28 year history together.”

As Paul Pfanner of Racer Magazine so eloquently put it, “From IMSA to IndyCar to SCCA and NASA, Mazda Motorsports has been the engine of opportunity and fulfillment of the dreams of so many young racers who have changed the face of American racing.”

World Speed has developed many of the drivers who would go on to win in the Mazda Road to Indy and Road to 24, and The Formula Car Challenge continues to be a great Mazda powered training ground for tomorrow’s champions.
