Fresh off a dominant performance that secured the 2025 Formula Pro USA F3 Western Championship, veteran racer Larry Schnur has officially signed with World Speed Motorsports (WSM) for the entire 2026 F3 season.

Schnur’s 2025 campaign was all about consistency. After two consecutive years of third-place finishes, Schnur unlocked a new level of performance last season, utilizing a steady, dominant presence to build a commanding lead that made the championship title undeniable.

The Numbers: Across a 10-race season, his record included:

  • Championship Result: 1st Place (Champion)
  • Podiums: 7
  • Wins: 3
  • Fastest Laps: 2

Perhaps the highlight of the season came at the finale, where Schnur etched his name in the record books. He became the first F3 driver in history to claim a victory at the newly configured Buttonwillow Raceway Circuit, capping off his championship run with a historic win.

A Legacy of Speed and Versatility

Schnur’s road to the F3 Championship is paved with decades of diverse motorsport experience. A true veteran of the circuit, Schnur was one of the inaugural participants in the Formula Car Challenge (est. 2005) and honed his skills in the Russell Racing Schools Formula Mazdas before transitioning to the Pro FM category with WSM.

However, Schnur is not just an open-wheel specialist. His competitive drive has seen him succeed across multiple disciplines. He is a prominent figure in the elite masters cycling community, leading Schnur Racing, and previously shifted gears to close-cockpit racing, securing the 2016 Pirelli GT3 Cup Trophy USA Platinum Masters Championship.

Returning to open-wheel racing, he has successfully leveraged that cross-discipline mental toughness to conquer the Formula Pro USA field.

“Over the years, Larry has become an integral part of the World Speed family and a pillar of this series,” said Telo Stewart, Team Principal of WSM. “He is simply great to work with. We are incredibly grateful for the trust he puts in our crew to deliver a championship-caliber car, and we look forward to another successful season together.”

Four other F3 competitors are slated to represent World Speed in limited appearances throughout the year. Formula Pro USA rounds one and two will take place at Sonoma Raceway March 7th-8th.
