Levels of Support:
World Speed Motorsports can provide any level of support necessary to undertake a professional
racing effort, however, WSM feels that one of two levels of support are appropriate to most situations. WSM calls those levels Professional and Championship.
Professional Level Support Information:
Professional level support is the level of support appropriate to the extreme needs of any racecar, especially today’s high level racecars. It involves the extensive level of maintenance that has aided in World Speed Motorsports’ reliability over the years and therefore ability to win Professional championships. Each car always has a dedicated mechanic and a shared engineer. The team will also aid the driver in data acquisition interpretation and other aspects of improvement. Professional support gives drivers, of varying levels of experience and ability, the chance to hone their skills in a professional environment but at a fraction of the cost of the Championship Level. For many teams even this level of support would be considered overkill.
Championship Level Support Information:
Championship Level Support is the level appropriate to run in a highly competitive professional series and with the intention of winning the overall championship. It could be the
difference between a top five finish and a win.
Championship Level Support includes
everything that Professional Level Support does and much more. To start with, each car has two dedicated mechanics assigned to it. This support level allows WSM to implement the high level of engineering that they are able to provide, given their background, and still
maintain the attention to detail that sets apart the rest of their preparation process, including working directly with WSM’s Technical Director and/or our lead engineer. WSM’s Championship Level Support would not change if they were running Schumacher or Senna.
World Speed Motorsports draws on wealth of experience in open wheel racing. The many race wins and championships were due to the incredible talent the team has been able to retain. It also doesn’t hurt to have many specialty tools, testing machines, and software on and off site to get the most out of every machine. A few of the tools we can tell you about are:
DynaPack Custom Chassis Dyno
The hubs of the formula cars are directly attached to hydraulic pumps using custom CNC’d hub adapters made for our special application. We can apply a variable but precise load to the axles of the vehicle. Simultaneously, we are monitoring pressures and measuring hub RPM, so we can determine the amount of work being performed. All of our team cars are dyno’d at regular intervals and after important services.
Custom Roehrig Engineering Advanced Spring Tester
A unique advantage of the spring tester and software is the ability to do continuous displacement-based data acquisition, which is user-configurable to obtain simultaneous force and displacement samples at increments as small as 0.0001 inch, regardless of velocity.
Custom Roehrig Damper Dyno
A fully computer controlled, variable motor speed damper dyno. The SHOCK™ Test Control and Damper Analysis software enables World Speed to perform static and dynamic gas tests, temperature or time based warming of a damper, as well as stop the dyno at bottom dead center of the damper stroke.
World Speed Motorsports is capable of providing every type of service a racecar could need. Contact us with your needs or special projects.
