MemoRojasWorld Speed Helps Daytona Prototype Race Winner at Infineon Raceway

World Speed Motorsports tested Daytona Prototype team championship points leader Memo Rojas in their championship winning #14 Star Mazda last week at Infineon Raceway. “Memo is in the points lead, and he had never driven Infineon Raceway, stated WSM Operations Manager Mark Milazzo. “The management at Chip Ganassi Racing decided that it was key that Rojas know the track before they got here for the August race weekend, and we were happy to be in a position to assist them.”

Michael Doyle, World Speed Motorsports’ Technical Director had this to say about the test, “I’ve been working with WSM drivers for the last few years on brake application and release; because of Memo’s experience and success I was looking forward to seeing his brake traces to help our current and future drivers dial that important part of their driving in, I wasn’t disappointed. It was a pleasure getting feedback on our current set-up for Infineon and also watching Memo go through his routine of learning a new track and car. He has a great attitude and is a fun driver to work with.”

Rojas and teammate Scott Pruett compete in the number one TELMEX Lexus Riley, and currently have 293 team points. This is an advantage of 11 and 13 marks over their closest rivals, No.10 (SunTrust) and No.99 (Gainsco Racing.)
