FTR Rookie of the Year Ace Carrio Signs with World Speed Motorsports
April 25, 2005
Sonoma, CA
World Speed Motorsports announced today that they will be competing
in all of the remaining Star Mazda Series events with FormulaTR Rookie
of the Year Adrian ‘Ace’ Carrio.
“We tested Ace last November and had an excellent experience,
said Marketing Director Mark Milazzo. In his first test in a Pro Mazda
he was only a couple of tenths off the track record. I spent a great
deal of time watching Ace compete in the FormulaTR series and I was
impressed not only with his driving, but by his professional attitude.
The team got along great with Ace and his entire family, and we were
pretty disappointed when we found out that he wouldn’t start
the season with us. Obviously we are thrilled that he has joined the
team for the balance of the season.”
“We were very impressed with Ace’s performance over the
winter, added Team Owner Telo Stewart. We expected him to get up to
speed quickly, but we were really surprised at the amount and quality
of the feedback he was able to give us. This really helped us get
him a car that could post those quick times.”
World Speed has procured a Pro Formula Mazda for Ace, and is currently
getting it ready for a two day test at Buttonwillow Raceway Park.
The next Star Mazda Series race on the schedule is Mid-Ohio May 21st.
