WORLD SPEED ALUMNI UPDATE

World Speed Motorsports Alumni continue to show up on podiums all over the country. In sports cars, open wheel, and prototypes these drivers have taken their WSM experience and parlayed it into top-level results. Many of World Speed’s alumni participated in this year’s Rolex 24 at Daytona.

Pierre Ehret who ran multiple seasons with WSM in the Star Series, won the GT class at Daytona this year and has been running in Porsche Super Cup supporting F1 events for the last couple of seasons.

Michael McDowell who won multiple races in World Speed’s FormulaTR 1600 car is signed to a contract that has him competing in the full season of Grand American Daytona Prototype along with Grand Am Cup. Michael put his Grand Am Cup on the podium in its first event.

World Speed’s 2003 FormulaTR driver Brad Coleman was brilliant in this year’s Rolex 24 finishing 7th with Team 16. Ace Carrio who was also a member of Team 16 tested for WSM this winter.

Guy Cosmo is running the full season in Grand American Cup Series, and participated in the 24 hour race in GT. Guy finished 5th in the Grand Am Cup event at Daytona. Cosmo was a World Speed Toyota Atlantic driver during the 2001 season.

2001 World Speed Star Mazda Champion Scott Bradley is in the Circuit City/Protomotive Racing Mazdas to compete in the 2005 SCCA SPEED World Challenge Touring Car Championship and also the 2005 Formula Drift series. Scott has also been showing up in some Grand Am Cup events.

Alex Figge who won races while racing Formula Mazda with WSM, and competed with the team in Toyota Atlantic is entered in the American LeMans Series for 2005 in an ex-factory Corvette C5-R racecar.
