Taylor Hacquard…18 year old Canadian residing in Vancouver, B.C. Taylor has excelled at every level, starting out in karting in the Pacific Northwest driving under the tutelage of Italian Motors. He moved up to the Stars of Karting in 2006 finishing 5th out of 29 Spec Level racers thru North America and Mexico. He also has participated in 2 Supernationals in Las Vegas and has traveled to Europe with Italian Motors.
In 2007, Taylor graduated to the open wheel Pro Formula Mazda ranks joining forces with World Speed out of Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California. Although the major focus for 2007 was an extensive testing program, Taylor adapted very quickly, with the help from Standing Start coaches. He completed over 3000 miles of testing at various tracks and completed 12 races in 2007, where he was on the podium 7 times. He also managed to get pole 4 times. He finished 3rd in the Star Mazda Winter Tour in 07 and 2nd overall in the Star Mazda West Coast series in 07 despite not having competed in all of the races due to school.
Taylor is in his last term of high school and will graduate this year. 2008 will be devoted towards racing and post academic activities will be postponed until 2009. While not racing, Taylor enjoys working on his 1993 Mazda RX7 and works out with a personal trainer to stay fit for racing. Cars is a daily dinner table discussion in the Hacquard household as his younger brother Devin also races go karts for Italian Motors and his dad Mike owns car dealerships in the Vancouver area, 2 of them being Mazda stores. A strong family nucleus and good work ethic will serve Taylor well as he aspires to race professionally.
