Grand Am and IRL Coming to Infineon Raceway

The powerful machines of the Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series will make their Infineon Raceway debut, Aug. 25-26, combining with the IRL IndyCar® Series to offer fans an exciting weekend of road-racing action at the Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma.
Many of World Speed Motorsports’ Alumni compete in Grand American, and the IRL series including Michael McDowell, Guy Cosmo, Alex Figge, Andy Lally, Mikel Miller, Jeff Bucknum, and Marc Antoine Camirand. A majority of the team will be off that weekend, and attending the event to cheer on their favorites.
The Rolex Series, which includes classes for Daytona Prototypes and production-based GT sports cars, will come to Infineon Raceway for the first time since its inception in 1999 and will be the featured event on Saturday of race weekend.
The Rolex Series, which will compete on the traditional 12-turn, 2.52-mile road course, will feature practice and qualifying on Friday, Aug. 25, with the two hour, 45-minute main event scheduled for Saturday at 3 p.m. Saturday will also feature qualifying for the IRL IndyCar® Series and the first of two main events for the Indy Pro Series™.
