September 5, 2006. With two races left in the 2006 campaign Adrian Carrio, who started on pole and set a new track record for the event remains in first place in Star Mazda Championship. Just before the race was scheduled to begin, the remnants of Hurricane Ernesto rolled over the facility. The foul weather made it very difficult to see, and Ace played it safe bringing the #14 World Speed Motorsports Rockford Fosgate Mazda home in 6th position. In the Team Championship World Speed Motorsports drops one spot to second place with 189 points. Adrian Carrio, of Monument, Colorado, had obliterated the track record to capture the pole position for Round Ten of the Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear. Cloudy skies loomed over the 2.549-mile Mosport International Raceway but the anticipated rain never materialized as Carrio clocked a time of 1:14.169 (119.354 MPH) in the #14 World Speed Motorsports Rockford Fosgate Mazda to capture his fifth pole position of the season.
